Automatic Parcel Sorting at ACS

The pop-up sorter at ACS Courier can sort 2500 parcels per hour, with travelling speed of 1.5m/sec.
The parcels are placed on conveyor belts, which drive the parcels to a DWS gate for dimensioning, weighing and barcode scanning at the same time while moving. A query requesting the parcel's destination based on the barcode is performed and in milliseconds the exit chute for the specific package is known. The sorter selects the defined exit chute of the parcel and a pop-up roller mechanism is activated at the exact moment to divert the parcel to the specific chute. Finally the parcels are collected from the chutes.
